Happy Hermit

Hi guys – how’s life treating you? I’ve been a mess lately- and failing to realize that I need space. Then I got it and sighed into a giant puddle of my self- I got a broom this weekend with a bath tub to die for and I immediately filled it with this milk bath mix that I make. It’s absolutely heaven. Salty milky floral herbaceous decadence. Fabulous for my rather battered spirit. Fabulous for my very battered body. I drained the water a bit and filled with more heat a few times- I didn’t want to get out! And all the while I was supposed to be getting ready for a dinner date. I know sweet man understood but I didn’t. And so late though it may be in just getting cozy with hermit mode.

9th card of the major arcana tells us so much about what we need to do right now. Stop, breathe, unwind, take the light of the summer sun and draw it within. Time now to enlighten your shadows. The year is almost over. What have we learned about ourselves? What do you want? What do you need? Who needs to be cut from your life?

And then take that new understanding and shine your light of truth on your world. Be in your authenticity.

Spend some time alone. It’s ok to say no to making decisions right now. It’s ok to say no to commitment right now. Just figure out what’s going on in your mind, body, and spirit. For some people that looks like a long soak in the bathtub lol for others, long walks in nature, for still others it might be curling up in bed with a notebook or music or nothing at all. Do what you need to do to get back to whatever 0 looks like for you.

If it’s been awhile since you’ve unraveled yourself there are ways to ease the process – resins are deep and complex like us and if you’re too high strung and anxious try this mix for grounding – 2/1/1/1 frankincense, cedar, vetiver, pine . If you’re too grounded and feeling heavy mix it up with equal parts lavender, cedar atlas, sweet marjoram and mandarin

Walking in or near water helps a lot. I loooove walking through sea foam. It makes me feel like a kid again, brings me back to my 0. It’s magical! If you love water and can’t get to it footbaths are so wonderful. Take a 1/2 cup of Epsom salts and fine salt mix with raw coconut water and add to your foot bath. My go to feet oils are rosemary lavender and peppermint. Scrub and work between and under your toes and then just let them soak in all that awesome.

Take care of your face. We always think about other people’s opinion of it but we judge ourselves by our face too! How’s your skin? How’s your hydration levels? Grab a silly but luxurious face mask and apply with the intention of revealing true beauty. Apply moisturizer before bed with intention of protecting your precious energy for 24 hours. Need an exfoliating blend? Rice flour and a bit of vitamin E, and a mix of honey and coconut milk will feed your face what it needs. Take care of it and it’ll take care of you.

We’ve graduated to making self care a normal part of life and the hermit allows for that to be so. Not over the top but practical and necessary.

Take some time. Now more than ever deliberation is needed. You deserve deliberation! The people who you love deserve the real you and not auto pilot driven you.
